How to Donate
There are several ways you can donate on GiveTrack
You already have Bitcoin
Then, it’s easy! Just sign up on GiveTrack, and make a bitcoin donation to your favorite project, and watch it on the blockchain as the project is implemented!
You want to use Credit Card, Debit Card or Apple Pay
We have integrated Wyre to our platform so you can donate using Credit Card, Debit Card or Apple Pay. You need to go to tab with title "Credit/Debit Card" during the donation process. Once you insert the amount to donate and click the "Donate" button the platform will open a new tab or popup box so you can continue the process using Wyre. Make sure your browser allows the site to open a new tab. If you don't see a new tab or popup box opening to start the process please check if this is being blocked. If you have any issue please contact us and we'll help you.
About Card 2FA: Wyre has a second factor card verification to prevent fraudulent transactions. This verification means that before completing the transaction they will send a small transaction to your card that you will be able to check by logging into your account associated with the card used for the donation. You will need online access to the account associated with card.
You will see a new transaction from Wyre with a code, like the following image:
This code is required to finish the process.
If you have any problems or questions related to this, please contact Wyre Support.
About Apple Pay: Per Wyre, Apply Pay is currently only be available for Mac users through Safari browser, and the device used must have biometric authentication, this means Touch ID activated or Face ID.
You want to use other cryptocurrencies or traditional (fiat) currencies
You can do this through our integration with Uphold!
Uphold allow donors to use 23 traditional currencies such as USD, EUR; and 10 cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin, such as Litecoin, Ethereum, or Dash.
Once logged in to GiveTrack, when you go to donate to a project, choose the “CC / Bank / Other cryptos” option, and you’ll be prompted to use your existing Uphold account and choose your currency, or sign up with Uphold. Once you sign up with Uphold, you can load your account with any currency that Uphold supports. Uphold will charge some fees, but we have negotiated them to be as low as possible for GiveTrack. We'll let you know the amounts during the donation process. For more information about the fees and minimums, visit Uphold.
Uphold offers several options with different wait times for funds to be available in your account:
-
5-7 days -
up to 24 hours -
up to 24 hours -
approx 20-30 min.
* Please note that many debit/credit cards may at first deny the transaction causing it to “fail,” due to the nature of the transaction to a cryptocurrency exchange. If this occurs, you can call the card issuer to confirm the transaction, or they may send you a security alert, and you can confirm the transaction that way. Also, Uphold limits debit/credit card transfers from certain countries. More information about credit/debit card transfers with Uphold is here.
You don't have Bitcoins, but would like to buy some and try GiveTrack.
The easiest way to buy bitcoin is through a wallet with our friends at BitPay or Edge.
Each of these services will offer a bitcoin wallet and allow you to purchase bitcoin by connecting to your bank account. It will take a few minutes to set up an account, and it usually takes several days for the purchase to go through. Any service that is set up to have a customer purchase bitcoin will be similar in their requirements and timeframes.
Alternatively, you can set up a wallet and have someone send you some bitcoin to your new address.
Here are a few tutorial videos to help you learn more about how they these different wallets work:

Edge Wallet - https://youtu.be/Va88MWZks_o
** Please also note that certain bitcoin wallet services do not have any access to or control of your bitcoin, in some cases you and only you can access your bitcoin, so be sure to follow all of the instructions for backing up your wallet and safely storing your private keys!
